The University, in front of the Hostal, was built between 1718 and 1740, a historical monument declared a cultural asset of national interest.

Cervera is the county seat of La Segarra. The municipality, of 55.19 km2, is located in the southern sector of the region, located on top of a hill. The relief is representative of the drylands where cereal cultivation predominates.
